After his debut with the Calgary Opera as Monostatos in their 2016 production of Magic Flute, Jeffery is quickly establishing himself as a character tenor of note. This “fine fairy-tale villain”(Calgary Herald) is hailed as “exciting to watch … and a joy to hear” (Opera Canada).
Jeffery is equally at home on the concert stage. Praised as a “stylish soloist” (New York Times), he is frequently featured with the Ottawa Bach Choir; his performance credits include the Leipzig Bach Festival and Carnegie Hall. With Ottawa’s Cantata Singers in their recent Rachmaninoff’s All Night Vigil, Jeffery earned praise for his “distinct, unusual timbre, with an astringent bite and a characterful lower register” (Ottawa Citizen).
